About Cie Kumquat

Kumquat is a contemporary circus company, founded in 2020 by Charlotte Le May and Verena Schneider. This binational collaboration between France and Austria emerged from the desire to produce shared projects as a collective. Kumquat merges circus with other artistic and intellectual disciplines such as dance, film, music, and anthropology. In France, they work closely with GdRA – Christophe Rulhes & Julien Cassier, while in Austria, the project is produced by Freifall. To date, Kumquat has developed a stage production (Alter, 2024), a video exhibition with live performance (Augenblicke, 2023), and a short film (Layers, 2023).
