Letters to (y)our future city

Briefe an die Stadt Danach
Workshops | Intervention

2023

The project Letters to (y)our future city, supported by Stadtpotenziale Innsbruck, invited participants to reflect on the future of Innsbruck, exploring various perspectives and timelines through a series of writing workshops led by Linda Müller and author Katharina Schaller. The resulting letters were compiled into a booklet.

“Through viewpoints such as stone, house, edge, dust, pigeon, and newspaper vendor, we aim to envision a city where all identities meet on equal terms, where we treat our environment with care, and where we may come to recognize our privileges.”

The results were presented at Haymon Bookstore on July 15, 2023, alongside a concert by Olgas Boris. Parts of the resulting booklet were read aloud.

While the project does not incorporate circus elements, it focuses on exploring alternative forms of expression and engagement with the city through writing and reflection. The goal was to step away from the performative and physical aspects typically associated with circus, offering instead a different perspective on the future of Innsbruck and fostering a deeper, more contemplative dialogue about identity, environment, and privilege.

Letters to (y)our future city is set to be further developed, with plans to incorporate circus and dance perspectives into the concept.
